A research seminar on “Pore Pressure Anomalies in the Pliocene Formation: A Case Study from the Western South” was held at UFAZ with the participation of Fidan Aslanzade and Zumrud Aslanova. During the event, the speakers provided information about the methodology and their projects designed for monitoring reservoir rocks and anomalous pressure. They stated that they intend to apply the proposed methodology to several oil fields.

Fidan Aslanzada is the coordinator of the ‘Oil & Gas Engineering’ bachelor’s program at UFAZ. She has a master’s degree in Petroleum Engineering from Azerbaijan State Oil and Industrial University and holds an MBA degree from Anglia Ruskin University (UK). She has more than 10 years of experience in Reservoir Engineering, Petrophysics, and Sedimentology, and over three years of teaching experience in related sciences. Today, she is pursuing a PhD at the University of Strasbourg on the Productive Series in the western South Caspian Basin. Her research interests are 3D reservoir models, sedimentology, petrophysics, and oil and gas reservoirs’ production optimization.

Zumrud Aslanova holds a master’s degree in Petroleum Engineering from Khazar University. She is pursuing a PhD and working as a researcher at the Scientific Research Institute “Geotechnological Problems of Oil, Gas and Chemistry.” Her research is concentrated on enhancing production parameters by investigating geophysical methods. She also has two years of teaching expertise and is presently instructing two courses at ASOIU.
