The Innovation and Digital Development Agency (IDDA) held a session at UFAZ, titled “An Introduction to Open Data: Key Figures and Insights.” This event featured Mikhail Parfentev, an esteemed Open Data International Expert and Program Manager at IDDA, who shared his insights on the transformative impact of open data in information technology and public administration.

During the session, Parfentev introduced the "DIKW Pyramid," a framework that illustrates the relationship between data, information, knowledge, and wisdom, and discussed the most commonly utilized datasets in the open data ecosystem. He emphasized that open data is information that can be freely used, reused, and redistributed by anyone, with minimal restrictions—primarily requiring proper attribution and adherence to similar sharing practices.

This event provided a valuable opportunity for students, academics, and professionals interested in the rapidly evolving field of open data to explore how these initiatives are shaping modern governance and technology.

With over 11 years of experience in project and product management, Parfentev has led numerous innovative IT development initiatives. His expertise spans assessing cultural heritage through IoT technology and organizing federal hackathons, both of which have significantly influenced the landscape of open data.

The lecture took place at the UFAZ conference hall, fostering a dynamic environment for discussion and collaboration among attendees.
