UFAZ and ASOIU Organized Joint Chess Tournament

On April 13, UFAZ Chess Club and ASOIU STUC Sabah successfully organized a joint chess tournament that brought together 47 students from both universities. The event took place in a friendly and competitive atmosphere, showing the growing interest in chess among students.

The tournament consisted of 7 exciting rounds, where players demonstrated strong focus, critical thinking, and strategic gameplay. The competition was intense, with many close matches and impressive performances from both teams.

At the end of the day, the top players were recognized for their outstanding achievements. Zahid Allahverdiyev (ASOIU) secured first place with 6.5 points, followed by Ali Israfilov (ASOIU) and Said Velizade (ASOIU), both scoring 6 points. Rasul Rahimbayov (UFAZ) also gave a strong performance, finishing with 5.5 points.

This event was a great opportunity to build a bridge between UFAZ and ASOIU students, promoting friendship, collaboration, and mutual respect through the game of chess. It also helped to strengthen the role of student clubs in organizing meaningful and engaging activities on campus.
