On February 27, 2025, UFAZ hosted an enlightening research seminar led by esteemed Professor Raphaël Couturier from the University of Franche-Comté, France. The seminar, titled “Some Practical Applications of AI/ML," attracted participants from various institutions, including ASOIU , AzTU, Khazar University, Baku State University (BSU), SOCAR, and UFAZ.

Professor Couturier, an expert in parallel and distributed computation, presented his team's innovative research initiatives in Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence. The session covered a range of topics, including the prediction of firemen's interventions, AI positioning for holographic cameras, and the asynchronous convergence of parallel training for AI algorithms.

A highlight of the seminar was a live demonstration showcasing AI's capability to detect anomalies in ADS-B signals, emphasizing its significance in air traffic management. Professor Couturier also shared insights into several other research themes, such as deep learning applications in steganography, image denoising, and automatic segmentation of myocardium, as well as prediction models for wind turbine production using Machine Learning.

The event was a great success and created a vibrant discussion environment, further underlining UFAZ’s commitment to advancing knowledge in the fields of AI and ML. We thank Professor Couturier and all participants for contributing to an inspiring session.
