UFAZ Hosted a Research Seminar on "Stream Reasoning for Industry 4.0"
On October 30, UFAZ held an insightful research seminar titled "Stream Reasoning for Industry 4.0" led by Professor Cecilia Zanni-Merk, a distinguished expert in Computer Science. Professor Zanni-Merk shared her expertise on stream reasoning technologies and their applications in advancing Industry 4.0. This seminar presented a valuable opportunity for students and faculty alike to engage with cutting-edge research in the fields of explainable AI and semantic technologies. It concluded with a dynamic question and answer session, allowing attendees to engage further with the topic and clarify their inquiries. Overall, the event provided valuable knowledge and stimulated engaging discussions, making it a rewarding experience for all participants.
Cecilia Zanni-Merk is a Full Professor at INSA Rouen Normandie and has been a key researcher at the LITIS laboratory with the MIND team since 2016. She holds a PhD in Computer Science from Aix-Marseille University (2004) and earned her Accreditation to Supervise Research from Strasbourg University (2014). With a strong academic background, Professor Zanni-Merk is currently overseeing five PhD theses on explainability, reasoning on graphs, and natural language processing.
Her research focuses on Knowledge Engineering, including logic-based knowledge representation and reasoning and the semantic web, with particular interest in conceptual representation and inference processes applied to problem-solving.
At UFAZ, she plays a pivotal role in the academic landscape as one of the diploma managers of the DSAI MSc degree and the coordinator of the Computer Science research team.
