UFAZ Launches “Skills for the Next Generation” Training Series to Empower Future Engineers

French-Azerbaijani University (UFAZ) has officially launched "Skills for the Next Generation," a four-week training initiative designed to prepare 3rd and 4th-year engineering students for the fast-changing demands of the energy sector. The program aims to build both technical expertise and essential soft skills through 20 hours of interactive learning, including lectures, workshops, and presentations led by recognized industry professionals.
Organized by the UFAZ Career Center, the program commenced on April 15 at UFAZ’s campus. Students who complete the full course with active participation will receive a prestigious certificate, co-signed by leading industry partners and the ASOIU Rector.
The first part of the program, “The Future of Sustainable Energy,” is being delivered in partnership with TotalEnergies. It explores how the energy sector is moving toward renewables, how companies are adapting to global sustainability goals, and how the circular economy fits into the bigger picture. The sessions are led by Chingiz Orujov, a business developer in renewables, and Emil Hasanov, a certified permaculture designer.
Next, students will attend “Soft Skills for Engineers,” developed with the Azerbaijan HR Institute. This module focuses on leadership, communication, and conflict resolution - skills that are essential in any workplace. Trainers Turan Talibova and Esmira Ibrahimova will guide students through practical strategies for personal and professional growth.
The final module, “Foundations of Sustainability & ESG,” is organized in partnership with Sustainera. This training introduces students to environmental, social, and governance (ESG) concepts, as well as green innovation and sustainability trends. The sessions are led by Rahman Gadirov, Narmina Aliyeva, and Murad Huseynov, who have extensive experience in this field.
This training program is part of UFAZ’s mission to help students gain real-world knowledge and prepare for careers in energy and sustainability. With support from industry experts and partner organizations, “Skills for the Next Generation” is helping students become more confident, skilled, and ready for the future.
