UFAZ student Oruj Bayramov delivered a speech at UNICEF headquarters during the event in New York, delivering on the Global Stocktake for Every Child: Placing Children and Future Generations at the Heart of Climate Action. The roundtable discussion was convened by the COP29 Azerbaijan Presidency with support from UNICEF and included participation from COP28 UAE, COP29, and COP30 Presidencies and Member States.

In his speech, he highlighted the critical need to place children and youth at the center of climate action, emphasizing their disproportionate vulnerability to climate impacts. He also shared the progress in Azerbaijan, including the launch of the Youth Climate Envoys program and the inclusion of youth voices in the drafting of NDCs. Furthermore, he stressed the importance of increasing climate financing specifically directed towards children, as currently only 3% of total climate funds are allocated to initiatives that benefit them directly.
