UFAZ Students Triumph at NASA Space Apps Baku 2024, Securing 1st and 3rd Places

UFAZ students have made a remarkable achievement at NASA Space Apps Baku 2024, claiming both the first and third places in this prestigious global competition.

The "AARDVARK" team, consisting of UFAZ students Kamal Ahmadov, Pavel Kuznetsov, Suad Afandiyeva, Rana Aliyeva, and Tamerlan Imanov, took home the first-place prize. Their winning project, a demo app, empowers users to track their personal carbon footprints and monitor local greenhouse gas (GHG) data, transforming individual actions into meaningful global contributions for the climate. Their innovative solution has also earned them a nomination for the global NASA Space Apps awards.

Additionally, the "Avant Garde" team, made up of UFAZ students Maryam Babayeva, Nail Shamsudinov, Novruz Juvarlinski, and ADA University master’s student Abdulla Akhundzada, secured the third-place spot.

NASA Space Apps is a worldwide competition that spans 185 countries and engages over 60,000 students and participants. It offers an exciting platform for talented individuals from diverse fields to collaborate on solving real-world challenges posed by NASA, turning ideas into impactful solutions for the future.
