UFAZ Teacher Nigar Alishzade Wins “AWITA 2024” Award in the Judges' Choice Category

UFAZ Computer science teacher Nigar Alishzade has been awarded the prestigious “AWITA 2024” Award in the Judges' Choice category. This recognition highlights her remarkable ability to leverage technology and artificial intelligence to create tangible, positive impacts in our communities. It serves as a powerful inspiration for her to pursue even greater achievements in her projects and research.

For context, the AWITA (Azerbaijani Women in IT Awards) is an annual event organized to celebrate the achievements of women in technology and to promote diversity in the field. This year’s AWITA awards were dedicated to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) Conference of the Parties held in Azerbaijan.

Notably, this year marked the first use of artificial intelligence in evaluating applications. As a result, winners were selected across 12 categories, recognizing the most successful women working in information technology in Azerbaijan.
